Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex repairs and test/adjust as needed.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
  • Install and maintain production machines and equipment.
  • Complete enhancement projects or changes for safety or capacity.

Job description

Summary/Objective:

The role of the Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain complex production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the production goals and corporate values of Corsicana Mattress Company. Must adhere to established safety and efficiency standards.

Essential Functions:
  • Schedules, completes, and documents Preventative Maintenance on select equipment and machinery on a regular basis.
  • Perform complex machinist duties to diagnose problematic situations.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, technical drawings, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses complex repairs, replaces or repairs parts and tests and adjusts as needed.
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
  • Install and maintain production machines and equipment.
  • Completes enhancement projects or change outs for production safety, capability or capacity.
  • Detects faulty operation and/or defective materials and reports to proper management.
  • Coordinates special projects as directed by Plant Manager.
  • Meet standards for completion of all assignments.
  • Address any problems to ensure quality control per instructions and guidelines; reports defective materials and equipment to plant management.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment and continuously adheres to safety guidelines.
  • Recommend and help implement measures/processes to improve operating conditions of equipment.
  • Participate in cross training opportunities to maximize operation effectiveness.

Work Environment:

Generally, exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold), dust, odors, fumes. Noise level is moderate to loud.

Physical Demands:

Frequently required to lift up to 50lbs, stand and walk for long periods of time, reach with arms and hands, climb, bend, stoop, kneel crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to sit.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Full Time 40/hr.

Required Education and Experience:
  • 4+ years' experience in similar role.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand diagrams and blueprints.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
  • Basic math skills.
  • Proficiency in English highly preferred.
  • Customer Service.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
