Job summary

Revlon Manufacturing & Distribution in Oxford, NC seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot and repair varied equipment and systems. Strong root cause analysis is required to eliminate recurring failures.

The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing filling and assembly equipment, conveyors, pumps, and related systems, with a focus on safety, GMP, and USDA regulations. Flexibility for shift changes and travel may be needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Tech 2 within 3 years expected.
  • Experience with filling/assembly equipment and systems.
  • Able to operate power shop tools safely.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, welding, pipe-fitting, and power transmission systems.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, initiate, and complete assignments promptly.
  • Operate a broad range of shop equipment (mills, lathes, saws).
  • Maintain safe, clean work areas and meet GMP/USDA safety standards.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair filling/assembly equipment and conveyors.
  • Read mechanical schematics and perform PMs during operation or downtime.
  • Document maintenance records accurately and report issues to supervision.
  • Collaborate within a team and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Be flexible to support multiple plant areas and shifts as needed.
  • Stand/walk up to 90% and lift up to 50 lbs; travel as required.

This role is an Onsite Role: This role requires full‑time presence at our Oxford, North Carolina office.

Overview

Mechanical Maintenance Technician with the skills and knowledge to effectively troubleshoot and repair varied equipment and systems. Strong root cause analysis skills required to eliminate recurring failures.

Responsibilities
  • Plans, initiates and completes job assignments in a prompt and timely manner.
  • Operates a broad array of shop equipment (mills, lathes, saws, etc).
  • Keeps assigned work areas safe, clean and orderly.
  • Completes job assignments in a prompt and timely manner.
  • Complies with company policy regarding GMP, USDA, and all safety regulations.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair a broad range of filling and assembly equipment with varied systems including filling and assembly equipment, conveyors, pumps, carton and box makers.
  • Able to effectively troubleshoot hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, and other mechanical systems.
  • Respond to machinery and equipment emergencies.
  • Visually inspect and perform tests, diagnosis and maintenance work on machinery and equipment.
  • Read and interpret mechanical schematics.
  • Perform mechanical PMs during operation or during periods of scheduled downtime.
  • Accurate completion of maintenance records.
  • Report all problems that prevent completion of assigned tasks to your supervisor.
  • Work within a team structure with minimal supervision.
  • Modify equipment as assigned to support a continuous improvement culture.
  • Continuously look for and recommend equipment and system improvements.
  • Work in various areas of the plant is required.
  • Train as needed.
  • Other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment and meet skills requirements.
  • Required to show consistent skill progression and achieve Tech 2 within 3 years.
  • Good working knowledge of filling and assembly equipment and systems.
  • Ability to operate power shop tools in addition to common hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Experience working with a wide range of industrial equipment and with hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, welding, pipe‑fitting, power transmission systems, etc.
  • Experience doing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and/or set up of equipment required.
  • Ability to follow and issue verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and juggle multiple and changing deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to build strong internal relationships with other departments.
  • Ability and willingness to take initiative.
  • Reliability and willingness to work 40+ hours a week to meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to change shifts as required to provide proper support.
  • Ability to read calipers, tape measures and angle gauges.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Must pass assessment test(s).
  • Continued growth and development to match new technologies.
  • Must be able to provide hand tools as required.
  • Able to stand and/or walk 90% (sitting 10%) of an 8‑hr day which includes climbing a ladder or steps.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs and manipulate up to 500 lbs.
  • Must meet the vision and hearing requirements.

3rd Shift hours: 10:45 pm - 7:15 am.

The base pay range for this position is $32.00 /hour with a $1.75 shift differential for 3rd shift; however base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job‑related knowledge, and geographic location. Certain positions may also be eligible for short‑term incentives as part of total compensation.

Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits. Employees are covered by the company‑paid basic life insurance policy and company‑paid short‑term disability insurance (the benefit commences upon hire and allows for a portion of base salary for up to 26 weeks if you are disabled). Other benefits offered to employees include but are not limited to the following: long‑term disability, supplemental life insurances, flexible spending accounts, critical illness insurance, group legal, identity theft protection, etc. Employees are also able to enroll in our 401k Retirement Savings Plan.

Employees will also receive 3 weeks of vacation, pro‑rated based on date of hire for the 1st year of employment and twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Vacation will depend on role.
