Saturday - Monday - 2nd Shift (Afternoon/Evening)


General Summary


Maintenance Technician II is responsible for independent complex troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of mechanical, automation, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Strong knowledge of digital logic, AC/DC circuits and specific machinery, including skills in interpreting schematics, conducting preventative maintenance, and managing complex repairs, including on-call duties. This position is responsible for product safety, quality and legality.


Primary Responsibilities



  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues/equipment

  • Executing scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) on machines, tools, and building systems (HVAC, electrical, automation, plumbing) to ensure safe, functional operations.

  • Perform intricate repairs involving power transmission components, electrical control panels and PLC components

  • Maintaining the overall safety and appearance of the building, including painting, lighting, groundskeeping, snow removal, and floor repairs.

  • Communicate at a high level to peers and leadership about equipment status and repair timelines

  • Reading and applying complex blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to understand system operations

  • PLC logic job functions involve basic understanding (often in ladder logic)

  • Performing scheduled and emergency repairs, including preventative maintenance, equipment upgrades, and adapting new production equipment

  • Fixing worn/damaged parts, disassembling/reassembling equipment, and testing for proper function

  • Maintaining detailed repair logs, performance data, and work records, typically using a Maintenance tracking software system

  • Ability to use all available resources via hard copies, digital documents and internet searches to aid in troubleshooting and parts sourcing

  • Maintain spare parts inventory via an inventory management system

  • Additional duties may include pump house and fire door drop testing, rack and battery room repairs

  • Adhering to safety standards such as Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Chemical control, inventory and storage and Arc Flash protocols

  • Following safety protocols, using appropriate PPE, and managing hazardous exposures

  • Providing after-hours or weekend emergency repair services

  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications & Experience:



  • High School diploma or equivalent required and 2+ years of experience performing mechanical maintenance duties in a manufacturing/packaging environment, or equivalent combination of vocational education and experience

  • Ability to work at elevated heights using ladders as well as operating ariel lift equipment for extended periods of time

  • Must have exceptional problem solving and maintenance skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Customer service driven.

  • Strong team player.
