Job summary

Medline Industries, LP is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to set up, adjust, and perform preventative maintenance on complex conveyors, automation, and robotics systems. You will document issues in CMMS, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with teams on building efficiency improvements.

You will inspect and repair facility systems, manage logs, and support two-person tasks when needed. A background in mechatronics, electrical, or HVAC tech is preferred, with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years of experience repairing and maintaining conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment.
  • Graduate of an apprenticeship program or holder of a current trade certification.
  • Fundamental understanding of machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and ad-hoc repairs on conveyors, automation, robotics, and ancillary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and fix out-of-service equipment; escalate as needed.
  • Record maintenance issues in the maintenance log for each line and document work in CMMS and ticketing systems.
  • Oversee junior engineers and provide guidance and training.

Job description

Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and ad‑hoc repairs on assigned conveyors, automation, robotics, and ancillary equipment as needed.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting of assigned out‑of‑service equipment and correct issues, and act as an escalation point for lower level technicians to leadership and/or more senior technicians as required.
  • Record all maintenance issues in the maintenance log for each line.
  • Document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ticketing systems, and maintain accurate records of operating logs for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other facility systems tested on a routine basis.
  • Mentor all maintenance personnel in developing appropriate skillsets and knowledge of equipment.
  • Assist maintenance mechanics in work that requires two people or when operational needs demand.
  • Perform facility/building project work as assigned, including light bulb/ballast replacement, door repairs, furniture installation, ceiling tile replacement, carpentry duties, plumbing repairs, and maintaining operation logs.
  • Assemble and test equipment to verify correct operation and production.
  • Analyze and record the cause of production delays on daily production reports and initiate procedures to resolve equipment malfunctions.
  • Examine defects, analyze spoilage causes, take corrective action where possible, and verify that the corrective action eliminates the problems.
  • Oversee projects such as minor space renovations, inventory management, contractor oversight, and building efficiency improvements.
  • Oversee, inspect, and monitor the routine maintenance performed by junior engineers, and provide guidance and training as needed.
Required Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of experience repairing and maintaining conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an apprenticeship program or holder of a current trade certification.
  • Fundamental understanding of machinery and equipment.
  • Basic skill level in multiple computer software packages, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with inputs, outputs, and PLC logic systems and ability to troubleshoot these systems.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within and out of state).
  • Willingness to learn new equipment as it is brought online.
  • Ability to certify on all industrial lift equipment (pickers, reaches, skates, booms, scissor lifts, etc.).
Physical and Technical Requirements
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, and lift for extended periods daily.
  • Frequently move, lift, and carry supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Stand for a minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours, up to 6 days a week.
  • Continuously ascend and descend from ladders and stairs, work at heights and/or from a ladder, work from a lying down position, and work with hands above head.
  • Willing to operate material‑handling equipment (e.g., forklift).
  • Write documents and reports using writing instruments and computers.
  • Read information often in small print (drawings).
  • Follow safety procedures such as Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out, Arc‑Flash, etc., and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work overtime and be available for on‑call requests as needed.
Benefits and Compensation

Anticipated salary range: $30.00 – $43.50 hourly, depending on location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.

Employees working less than 30 hours per week receive 401(k) contributions and paid time off.
