Job summary

The Osage Nation Housing Department in Pawhuska, OK seeks a Maintenance Technician II to handle maintenance of housing buildings and grounds. You will perform plumbing, electrical, and general upkeep, solve technical issues, and report findings to the Lead Maintenance Tech for updates to the Housing office.

Requires 5 years of maintenance experience, an Associate’s degree preferred, and ability to operate tractors and standard equipment.

Qualifications

• 5 years of maintenance and/or construction experience.
• Mechanical, electrical and plumbing training certifications preferred.
• Ability to work all hours/shifts/service calls as needed.
• Must pass criminal background and drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on structures and grounds, including plumbing and electrical components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems and provide reports to Lead Maintenance Tech.
• Operate standard maintenance equipment and travel for training as required.

Job description

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for all duties assigned by the Lead Maintenance Tech of all structures and grounds of the Osage Nation Housing Department. The Maintenance Technician II must perform miscellaneous tasks requiring hand labor for the development and maintenance of Housing lands and structures. Responsible for overall maintenance, plumbing, and electrical components of Housing buildings. The Maintenance Tech II will need to be able to problem solve technical issues with mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and overall structure and provide reports to the Lead Maintenance Tech so that updates can be provided to the Housing office.Associate’s Degree in any field preferred; High school diploma or GED requiredMust have 5 years of maintenance and/or construction experienceMechanical, electrical and plumbing training certifications preferredMust be able to work all hours/shifts/service calls as neededMust possess knowledge and ability to safely operate tractors, brush hog, backhoe, forklift and all other equipment used by the maintenance staffMust be able lift at least 30 lbs. and drag or pull at least 100 lbs.Must be able to stand, lift, bend and climb laddersRequires a high level of personal integrity and ethicsRequires a high level of problem solving skillsRequires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessionsRequires good interpersonal communication and team work skillsMust maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents the NationMust maintain confidentiality at all timesRequires ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programsMust be able to pass a criminal background checkMust be able to pass drug/alcohol testingMust be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to meet deadlinesMust have a valid driver’s license– may be required to drive GSA or tribal vehicle
