Job summary

College Of The Muscogee Nation is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to ensure the upkeep of buildings and property. Responsibilities include maintenance tasks on HVAC systems, performing minor repairs, and general lawn care.

A High School Diploma or equivalent and three years of related experience are required. Preferred qualifications include experience in HVAC and welding, as well as knowledge of the Muscogee Creek language. A valid Oklahoma Driver's License is necessary.

Job description

General Summary

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for maintenance and upkeep on all College buildings (interior and exterior). They also help maintain all HVAC units, handle welding, repair equipment, and provide general lawn care support.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the College of the Muscogee Nation’s buildings and property.
  • Perform minor repair work on electrical, plumbing, carpentry, floor tile, cement, and concrete projects.
  • Assist with general lawn care.
  • Change lights, adjust temperature settings, move and assemble furniture, check phones, run cable, and complete other supervisor‑assigned tasks.
  • Keep accurate records of daily routines.
  • Maintain a professional personal appearance at all times.
  • Exercise good public relations with patrons, students, and employees.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and HVAC problems.
  • Repair indoor and outdoor furniture; welding skills are an asset.
  • Lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent with three years of experience using power tools, lawn care, and general knowledge of building construction.

Preferred Requirements
  • Three years of HVAC and welding experience.
  • Ability to speak the Muscogee Creek language is preferable but not a requirement.
  • Native American and Veteran preference.
Licensure

Valid Oklahoma Driver's License.
