Qualifications

  • Ability to perform general maintenance, semi-skilled tasks, and basic repairs.
  • Ability to learn and operate building automation and safety systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance to keep equipment in service.
  • Knowledge of hospital utility systems and safety policies.

Salary Range: $24.60 - $31.98 (Based on Experience)

Status:Non- exempt; Full-Time

Hours:Day Shift

Salary Range:$24.60 - $31.98/hour (Based on Experience)

Pana Community Hospital is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician II to maintain the hospital’s facilities, grounds, equipment, and utility systems. Responsibilities include general maintenance and repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, boilers, carpentry, painting, and mechanics; preventative maintenance and inspections; troubleshooting hospital and patient care equipment; and maintaining building automation, fire, and safety systems. The position requires the ability to work independently, respond to emergencies, follow safety and regulatory procedures, and work varying hours, including 24-hour emergency call as needed.

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, boiler systems, and kitchen appliances.
  • Ability to perform general maintenance, semi-skilled tasks, and basic electrical and plumbing repairs.
  • Ability to learn and operate building automation, fire suppression, and fire alarm systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, identify malfunctions, and ensure equipment is repaired and returned to service.
  • Ability to repair and maintain hospital and patient-care equipment, including beds, tables, chairs, and related items.
  • Ability to complete required preventative maintenance inspections and maintain accurate inspection schedules.
  • Knowledge of hospital utility systems and the ability to understand and communicate backup procedures during system failures.
  • Knowledge of proper energy isolation and emergency shutdown procedures.
  • Ability to attend in-services and learn the operation of new equipment.
  • Ability to inspect hospital/clinic roofs, walls, ceilings, floors, and grounds and report needed repairs.
  • Working knowledge of hospital, departmental, and safety policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ability to work in a patient-care environment, including potential exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous waste, and other patient-related conditions.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift up to 50 pounds, walk, climb ladders, and work at heights.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments as required.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including 24-hour emergency call, when required.
  • Ability to perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
