Job summary

Protein Solutions is seeking a Maintenance Tech II in Joplin, MO to support the Maintenance Department. Electrical experience is required, and familiarity with anhydrous ammonia refrigeration is preferred but not required.

This full-time, on-site role reports to the Maintenance Manager. The technician will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and ammonia refrigeration systems, perform repairs with standard tools, and collaborate with Maintenance Leads.

Qualifications

• Electrical experience required with troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with electrical drives, motors and PLCs.
• Anhydrous ammonia refrigeration experience preferred but not required.
• Must pass a drug screen with THC and background check.

Responsibilities

• Directly reports to Maintenance Manager; coordinates with Maintenance Leads on repairs.
• Promotes teamwork and professional communication within the maintenance department and with other associates.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic or ammonia refrigeration issues and perform repairs with tools and parts.
• Repair pumps, grinders, hydraulics, valves and related equipment; replace worn parts as needed.
• Must have computer experience and be able to communicate via email.

Salary Range: $30.00 To $35.00 Hourly

Job Description

Maintenance Tech II:

Support Maintenance Department and the mission of the company.

Electrical experience is required.

Anhydrous Ammonia refrigeration experienced preferred, but not required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directly reports to Maintenance Manager; and will communicate and collaborate with other Maintenance Leads on concerns, problems, and status of repairs.
• Will promote a positive teamwork environment, by communicating professionally and in a timely manner within the maintenance department and with all other associates.
• Must be capable of troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic or ammonia refrigeration problems and completing the necessary repairs needed with experience, hand tools and the replacement and installation of required parts or components of the equipment, following all safety guidelines and quality GMP’s.
• Experience in electrical drives, motors, motor controls and PLC’s is required. Must be capable of troubleshooting and repair of mechanical operations to include pumps, grinders, hydraulics, air driven equipment and valves. Candidate needs 2-5 years of electrical experience.
• Prefer candidate with experience in and capable of troubleshooting and repair of anhydrous ammonia chilling.
• Prefer candidate who is OSHA 10 or 30 Hour certified or who has taken training within last 3 years.
• Must have computer experience and be capable of communicating in a digital format via email.
