Job summary

Blount Fine Foods is seeking a Second Shift Maintenance Technician in Fall River, MA to perform maintenance and repair on building and production equipment during processing hours. The role requires knowledge of machine repair, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

The position offers a pathway to contribute to a company with five generations of food expertise, including organic, gluten‑free, and low sodium products.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and trade school certification required.
  • 6 years related experience.
  • Working knowledge of industrial machine repair, measurements and electrical knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Routinely inspect equipment to identify and report potential equipment failure.
  • Routinely inspect equipment safety issues (personnel and/or food safety).
  • Routinely inspect plant utilities to identify and report potential equipment failures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled and/or assigned to process equipment.
  • Perform repairs to maintain the operational ability and integrity of process equipment.
  • Maintain updates, create and do Work Orders in the CMMS.
  • Attend GMP & Safety meetings.

Job Details

The pay range for this opportunity is $31-$31.78/hour.

Position: Second Shift, 3PM-12AM.

Summary: Perform required maintenance and repair on building and equipment as scheduled or as needed during processing hours.

Work independently and cooperatively to meet and/or exceed the expectations of the customer, company and department, through established and maintained procedures. Maintain positive and productive behavior, showing care for the customer and fellow employees, without compromising company or personal standards.

Essential Duties
  • Routinely inspect equipment to identify and report potential equipment failure.
  • Routinely inspect equipment to identify and report potential equipment safety issues (personnel and/or food safety).
  • Routinely inspect plant utilities to identify and report potential equipment failures.
Perform Maintenance Duties
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled and/or assigned to process equipment.
  • Perform repairs to maintain the operational ability and integrity of process equipment.
  • Maintain areas outside of processing areas to the level of requirements of the Master Sanitation Plan.
  • Perform pre‑operational equipment setup/maintenance and post‑operational equipment teardown/maintenance on process equipment.
Operate Equipment
  • Safely operate various maintenance power tools and measuring instruments.
  • Safely operate gas cutting and welding systems.
  • Safely operate forklifts, manual and/or electric pallet jacks (Plant Certification).
  • Must be LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) Certified.
Maintain All Required Maintenance & Company Records And Documents
  • Maintain updates, create and do Work Orders & Preventive Maintenance Worksheets within the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Maintain and understand how to use equipment manuals located within the Maintenance Library.
Basic Job Requirements
  • Requires general plant training.

  • Requires lubrication and filtration (inspection/repair/preventive maintenance).
  • Requires utilities (inspection/repair/preventive maintenance).

  • Requires mechanical (inspection/repair/preventive maintenance).
  • Requires mechanical schematic navigation (mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic).
  • Requires electrical (inspection/repair/preventive maintenance).
  • Requires electrical schematic navigation (controls/safeties/VFD’s).
  • Requires fabrication.
  • Requires diagnostic navigation.
  • Requires tasks that are assigned verbally, written or digitally by Maintenance Leadership to be completed as directed.
  • Required to understand and follow all Maintenance Programs and Company Policies.
  • Miscellaneous responsibilities.
  • Attend GMP & Safety meetings.
  • Attend training made available in relation to the job description.
  • Evaluate and contribute to the management of the parts inventory level.
Education & Development

High school diploma and a Trade school certification.

6 years related experience.

Must have working knowledge of industrial machine repair, measurements, electrical knowledge.
