Job summary

Gulf Coast Housing Partnership, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Tech I to uphold the upkeep of interior and exterior building systems in our apartment communities. Responsibilities include basic HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs, with supervision of a maintenance team.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, EPA certification, and at least three years in maintenance plus three years in supervising a team. A tool allowance is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; EPA certification required.
• Minimum three years’ experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.
• Minimum three years of experience supervising a maintenance team.

Responsibilities

• Repair minor electrical problems (switches, receptacles, fixtures) and high voltage issues (110–220V).
• Perform carpentry and sheetrock repairs, patch holes, repair subfloors/cabinets, fix minor plumbing.
• Troubleshoot and fix minor appliance failures (dishwasher, disposals, ice makers).
• Monitor maintenance and cleaning supplies inventory; place replacement orders.
• Perform make-ready maintenance on vacant units and assist painting of interiors and common areas.
• Implement routine preventive maintenance across all systems.
• Inspect property for safety hazards and take corrective action; escalate when needed.
• Complete resident work orders and service requests; travel to suppliers as directed.
• Incorporate customer service into all duties; other duties as assigned.
• Receive $500 tool allowance paid quarterly.
