Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Michigan is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to improve, maintain, and repair equipment across manufacturing, production and packaging. You will troubleshoot and implement proactive maintenance to maximize equipment efficiency.

You'll work with production, quality, safety and engineering teams; perform weekly preventative maintenance, daily inspections, document issues, and mentor operators while upholding 200% safety accountability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED required.
• Associates degree or technical certification preferred.
• 1-3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of SQF, GMPs, LOTO and Lean manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with MIG/TIG welding and fabrication.
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of stainless steel food-grade equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support production, quality, safety and engineering in projects by providing resource support.
• Develop, perform and document weekly preventative maintenance procedures.
• Perform daily inspections and adjustments to ensure all manufacturing and related equipment is in proper working condition.
• Detect, resolve, document and report complex equipment issues.
• Partner with Maintenance Master and Production Managers to determine root cause for troubleshooting systems and processes.
• May provide training and direction to production leads or operators.
• Practices 200% safety accountability (self and others).
• Perform other duties as required under immediate supervision.
