Job summary

Simmons is seeking a Maintenance Tech I for the D shift to assist in equipment repair and perform preventative maintenance in the food processing facility. You will troubleshoot, replace components and work with engineers and vendors to keep production equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Ideal candidates have experience in welding, electrical or mechanical repair, and refrigeration or hydraulics, with strong safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Assist in equipment repair and preventative maintenance procedures.
• Troubleshoot equipment and communicate with engineers and vendors.
• Adhere to safety, LEAN and company policies.
• Support team concepts, programs and cross-functional work.
• Familiar with Simmons operating systems and procedures.
• Physical ability to lift 75–150 pounds and work in extreme temps.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, replaces, corrects or affects equipment as needed to ensure equipment operates correctly and efficiently according to production requirements.
• Consults with Engineers and vendors as needed. Accomplishes layout work for each project as needed. Will be able to troubleshoot equipment.
• Meets safety requirements in accomplishing responsibilities of this position complying with all policies or regulations set forth by Simmons or various government agencies concerning safety, environment, vehicle, handling of food products, packaging, ingredients and any related items.
• Participates as a member of the Team. Attends team meetings and supports cohesiveness to drive actions and synergy.
• Performs other duties to support business objectives and adheres to operating systems principles and objectives.
