The food manufacturingMaintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our production equipment and facility systems. This hands‑on role performs routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and support continuous production of our frozen products.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems for manufacturing and packaging equipment.
Perform daily inspections and preventive maintenance per established schedules.
Quickly diagnose mechanical issues to reduce equipment downtime and maintain product quality.
Collaborate with production teams to support machine set‑ups, changeovers, and calibrations.
Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to log work orders and equipment history.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with GMP, OSHA, and food safety standards.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives projects as needed.
High school diploma or GED required. Technical certification or trade school preferred.
1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or food production maintenance role.
Strong mechanical aptitude with proven ability to work with tools, machinery, and mechanical systems.
Working knowledge of motors, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, valves, compressors, and hydraulic systems.
Basic electrical troubleshooting and knowledge of PLC-controlled systems a plus.
Must be comfortable working around food-grade environments, with strict cleanliness and safety protocols.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
Oregon Ice Cream contains office, manufacturing and outdoor workspaces where this position is required to access and work. The position requires a person to be able to frequently walk, stand and climb; bend and twist; see, hear and talk; use hands to finger, handle or feel tool, controls or products; use hands and arms to reach, hold and carry tools or products. Frequently lifting/moving up to 50lbs is also required; occasional lifting/transferring of objects may be required with assistance up to 75 lbs. This positions also requires a person to handle environments of different temperatures and with various food allergens present.
