Job summary

Holiday Inn Lucedale is seeking a Maintenance Tech to respond to guest requests and perform preventive maintenance across hotel systems. You will service HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler, kitchen, laundry and pool equipment while maintaining safe, clean engineering spaces.

The role requires an HS diploma and at least two years in building maintenance, with the ability to perform carpentry and renovation work. Team-driven environment and on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years prior experience in building maintenance and construction.
• Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest requests promptly and professionally.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler, kitchen, laundry, pool and guest rooms.
• Monitor water chemistry and maintain safe levels for boiler loops and cooling towers.
• Operate equipment and monitor domestic water systems and electrical switch gears.
• Maintain engineering spaces and perform rounds to ensure systems are functional.
• Complete maintenance requests, log readings, and notify shifts.
• Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms or power failures and coordinate with authorities.

Ensure a safe, resourceful, and well-maintained hotel environment.**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES*** Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.* Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.* Take water samples of boiler, loop, and cooling tower systems and treat the water to maintain predetermined levels of chemical concentration.* Operate various equipment; maintain the domestic hot and cold-water systems and monitor various electrical switch gears to ensure proper operation.* Maintain the cleanliness and general maintenance duties in the engineering spaces as well as other assigned daily operations.* Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.* Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings, and maintain log to notify the next shift.* Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities.* Handle operation of the boiler and chiller and maintaining temperatures throughout the building.* Assist with maintenance of parking lot and snow removal as needed.* Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES*** High school diploma or equivalent trade school, special courses in building maintenance and construction.* Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work.* Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.* Two years prior experience in building maintenance and construction.**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**Lift/Push/Pull/Carry - up to 50 -75 plus lbs. supplies, equipment and machinery. Continuous movement throughout hotel required to respond quickly to emergency.
