Job summary

Lourdes Noreen McKeen Residence in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support upkeep for a faith-based, nonprofit senior care facility.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment in laundry, kitchen, boiler rooms, and ACs, following maintenance schedules, and performing unscheduled repairs. The position requires on-call duties and may include security-related tasks.

Qualifications

• High School or vocational school graduate or equivalent.
• Three years experience in building maintenance including plumbing and electrical.
• Courses in HVAC, electrical, carpentry, drywall or building trades preferred.
• Must speak and write English clearly.
• Lift 25 pounds and move 50 feet; on-call and evacuation duties possible.

Responsibilities

• Follow maintenance schedules at all times.
• Maintain equipment in laundry, kitchen, boiler rooms, and air conditioners.
• Perform unscheduled maintenance as requested.
• May perform duties of a Security Guard as needed.
• Respond to maintenance calls 24 hours a day while on-call.

Maintenance Technician

AFaith-Based, Nonprofit, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Geriatric Care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, we've served the community since 1960. We are a place of life, a place of caring, and more importantly, a true home for our residents.

We are seeking to hire a Maintenance Technician.

• $20 to $22 per hour based on skills and experience.
• Full-Time schedule which includes evenings as needed plus Every Other Weekend.

Maintenance Tech Qualifications:

• High School or vocational school graduate or equivalent.
• Three years experience in building maintenance which must include plumbing and electrical experience .
• Courses in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, carpentry, drywall or building trades preferred.
• Demonstrated independent contracting experience in general repairs considered.
• Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
• May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.

Maintenance Tech Job Summary:

• Assure that maintenance schedules are followed at all times.
• Maintain equipment in laundry, kitchen, boiler rooms, and individual air conditioners.
• Perform unscheduled maintenance as requested.
• May be required to perform the duties of a Security Guard on a temporary or as needed basis.
• As scheduled, comply with on-call maintenance schedule for response to call 24 hours a day.

Maintenance Tech Work Conditions:

• Subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reschedule maintenance activities.
• Interaction with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc.
• Subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.
• Must work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holiday, as well as in other positions as needed.
• Subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
• May be required to work in cramped spaces and in adverse weather conditions.
