Job summary

SiteOne Landscape Supply is seeking a Class A Maintenance Tech to perform preventative maintenance and repairs of heavy equipment in field environments. You will travel to multiple sites and diagnose, repair, and service engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and other mechanical systems on excavators, dozers, loaders, and more.

The role requires experience with diagnostics software, welding, and safe operation of heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in yellow steel equipment industry.
• Ability to run diagnostics with computer software to resolve equipment issues.
• Electrical troubleshooting on equipment is required.
• Capable of lifting up to 65 lbs.
• Welding and torch use required.
• Valid driver's license and own tools are required.

Responsibilities

• Drive to equipment locations and perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment.
• Diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment and diagnose diesel engine issues.
• Replace faulty parts and adjust equipment for optimal performance.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and complete shop paperwork.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Class A Maintenance Tech to perform preventative maintenance and repairs of heavy equipment in a field environment. You will travel to various locations and make repairs to engines, powertrains, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and various other mechanical systems on equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers, off highway trucks, forklifts, and more. Applicants should be experienced in all aspects of heavy equipment repair so they can successfully identify, diagnose, and repair defects. You must be able to use a pc and or tablet to run diagnostic tests and enter job information.

What you’ll do:

• Driving to the equipment location.
• Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance
• Inspecting trucks, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance
• Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment
• Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts
• Troubleshoot issues with diesel engines
• Consult with other mechanics
• Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs
• Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments like winches, blades, and hammers
• Complete shop paperwork
• Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management
• Maintain a clean and safe work area including the service truck

Skills We Are Seeking

• Minimum 5 year's experience in yellow steel equipment industry
• Must be able to run diagnostics with computer software to resolve equipment issues
• Electrical trouble shooting on equipment a must
• Capable of lifting up to 65 lbs
• Must be able to weld and use a torch
• Must have good communication skills
• Must have an above average respect and understanding as to Safety compliance PPE and practices
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must have your own tools and normal equipment to perform your job responsibilities.
• Self-motivated and be able to work unsupervised and efficiently and interact with others in a professional manner
