Job summary

Tyson Foods in Georgia is seeking a maintenance technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment and assets while upholding a safe work environment and Tyson policies. You will read assignments, use hand tools and power tools, and apply wiring, hydraulics, pneumatics, and plumbing knowledge.

Training, background checks, and shifts across all hours are part of the role. This full-time position may involve all shifts and requires physical capability consistent with industrial maintenance

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of mechanical work experience or graduation from an industrial maintenance training program.
• Willingness to work all shifts and undergo background checks.
• Must be able to complete the required task after application submission.

Job description

Accepting rehires after 180 days

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Use basic hand tools.
• Apply basic mechanical or maintenance skills and knowledge in welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics & plumbing.
• Read & understand assignments.
• Communicate orally & in writing.
• Hear/ respond to two-way radio.
• Lift 50 pounds.
• Climb stairs 120 feet and ladders up to 60 feet.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Withstand extreme hot, cold, inclement weather & odors.
• Use various electrical & pneumatic power tools & equipment.
• Learn Tyson software to create work orders and fill out daily documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Attend outside training, company testing program & vendor training when required.

Requirements

• Have a minimum of (1) year of mechanical work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program (combination of employers allowed as long as experience is at least 1 year).
