Job summary

Helen Farabee Center in Wichita Falls, TX is seeking a Full Time Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform skilled maintenance and repair across plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and grounds.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled maintenance and repair in plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and grounds.
  • Maintain facilities and vehicles; travel as required with a center vehicle provided.
  • Work under supervision with initiative; some after-hours on-call.
  • Implement trauma-informed practices and uphold safety standards.

Job Location: Wichita County MHC - Wichita Falls, TX 76307 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School/GED Salary Range: $15.72 Travel Percentage: Up to 25% Job Shift: 8-5 M-F may vary Job Category: Facilities Performs skilled maintenance and repair work for HFC’s facilities and vehicles.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Works under the general supervision of the Property Manager. Responsible for skilled maintenance and repair work in areas such as plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, electrical, mechanical, heating & air conditioning, and grounds maintenance, and other duties assigned. Work involves maintenance of all facilities and vehicles. Works under moderate supervision with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Travel is required for which a center vehicle is provided. Some on-call after hours required. HFC incorporates principles of trauma-informed care throughout the agency, emphasizing cultural sensitivity and a safe and respectful environment for all individuals served and staff. All job descriptions include the responsibility to learn about and implement trauma-informed practices within the scope of work for the position. Reassignment is a condition of employment that may occur at the employer’s discretion. Your work location and hours could change based on program needs.

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience: High school graduation or GED and must have 5 years’ experience in building/vehicle maintenance and repair work. Must have current driver’s license and be insurable under Center insurance. Must pass all Center-mandated trainings.
