Job summary

Fortune Brands Innovations is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure equipment reliability and plant compliance with maintenance principles, working with limited supervision.

You will perform emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, collaborate on upgrades, and support safety requirements while maintaining clean work areas and adapting to changing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate/HSE or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills.
• Manage ambiguity while working through stressful situations.
• Positive attitude and a willingness to work with others.
• Basic machining skills.
• Basic welding skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a group.
• Must own hand tools.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance tasks on machines, equipment, and systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support major repairs, upgrades, and improvement projects
• Safely accomplish assigned tasks
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop equipment specifications and proactive maintenance strategies

ABOUT THE JOB:

In this position you will have the opportunity to ensure the plant is in compliance with generally accepted maintenance principles while working independently requiring limited supervision.

YOUR ROLE:

The bullet points below reflect roughly 80% of your job. We are a fast-paced company, you may be pulled in a variety of different direction with tasks added or changed.

• Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.


• Perform regular preventive maintenance tasks on machines, equipment, and systems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work Permits


• Previous Maintenance Experience


• Ability to read blueprints and machine control schematics

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate works around mechanical hazards, noise and or vibration daily. Extreme temperatures, wetness / humidity and being outdoors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

• Ability to run respective inventory system (Great Plains, E21, MES etc.).

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to complete daily Pre-Use Inspection Sheets.
