Job summary

Fortune Brands Innovations is seeking a maintenance technician to ensure the plant remains in compliance with maintenance principles and operate with limited supervision.

You will perform emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on upgrades and proactive strategies while following safety rules and maintaining orderly work areas. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; manage ambiguity under pressure.
• Own a set of hand tools and basic machining/welding skills.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE JOB:

In this position you will have the opportunity to ensure the plant is in compliance with generally accepted maintenance principles while working independently requiring limited supervision.

YOUR ROLE

• Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance tasks on machines, equipment, and systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support major repairs, upgrades, and improvement projects
• Safely accomplish assigned tasks

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Graduate/HSE or equivalent manufacturing experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills
• Manage ambiguity while working through stressful situations
• Positive attitude and a willingness to work with others
• Basic machining skills
• Basic welding skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a group
• Must own hand tools
• Strong troubleshooting skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work Permits
• Previous Maintenance Experience
• Ability to read blueprints and machine control schematics

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate works around mechanical hazards, noise and or vibration daily. Extreme temperatures, wetness / humidity and being outdoors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

• Ability to run respective inventory system (Great Plains, E21, MES etc.).

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to complete daily Pre-Use Inspection Sheets.
