The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the reliability, safety, and operational performance of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This position performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance; diagnoses equipment failures; and supports production by minimizing unplanned downtime.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on rotational molding and injection machines, production equipment, and auxiliary systems.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections to identify wear, deterioration, abnormal operating conditions, and potential failures before they result in unplanned downtime.
- Complete preventive maintenance work orders accurately and within established schedules, including documentation of repairs, inspections, equipment conditions, and recommended corrective actions.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and respond promptly to production downtime.
- Repair and maintain motors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, conveyors, ovens, burners, cooling systems, compressors, grinders, mixers, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
- Perform welding, fabrication, machining, equipment installation, and modifications as required.
- Participate in root-cause analysis of recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective or preventive solutions.
- Provide technical feedback and support continuous improvement efforts involving equipment, tooling, new products, and production processes.
- Maintain facility systems, including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, electrical systems, and general building infrastructure.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and required PPE practices.
- Participate in scheduled shutdown maintenance and emergency repairs as operational needs require.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.
- 2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience troubleshooting motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, and industrial equipment.
- Ability to read electrical diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
- Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate maintenance documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with plastics manufacturing, or similar manufacturing equipment.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and repair industrial electrical and control system failures.
- Experience troubleshooting motors, VFDs, relays, contactors, sensors, switches, control circuits, and other electrical components.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Ability to safely use multimeters and other electrical diagnostic equipment to identify electrical faults. Welding, fabrication, basic machining, and CMMS experience.

Physical and Work Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and perform physical maintenance activities throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull tools, parts, and equipment as required.
- Ability to work around moving machinery, elevated temperatures, noise, and other industrial manufacturing conditions.
- Must comply with all PPE, LOTO and established safety requirements.
- Ability to work in hot environments.
