Kloeckner Metals - Americas is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for coordinating OEM equipment preventive maintenance and handling internal breakdowns to ensure all machinery operates reliably and safely. The role includes working with OEMs on production equipment such as lasers, plasma/flame systems, press brakes, CNC mills, and forklift fleets up to 45,000 pounds.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of mechanical experience.
• Strong background in electrical systems, hydraulics, and diesel engines.
• Experience with transmissions and clutches is a plus.
• Able to work independently and with others in a team.

Responsibilities

• Execute preventive maintenance requests on production equipment.
• Coordinate OEM maintenance for lasers, plasma/flame, press brakes, CNC mills, and forklifts up to 45,000#.
• Address immediate operational and safety concerns promptly.
• Work with outside contractors for facility maintenance as needed.
• Inform scheduler of maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Fabricate repair parts with internal engineering support.
• Maintain spare parts inventory provided by OEM.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues with OEM manufacturers.
• Document all work orders in the maintenance software.
• Keep technical knowledge up to date via workshops and networking.
• Maintain safe, clean working environment and comply with regulations.
• Contribute to team efforts with related results.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for coordinating all OEM equipment PM service work and internal breakdowns to include addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns and ensuring all equipment and machines are in good working order.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for coordinating all OEM equipment PM service work and internal breakdowns to include addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns and ensuring all equipment and machines are in good working order.

Summary Of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of the facility and operational equipment by completing preventive maintenance requests, working with OEM on production equipment to include lasers, plasma/flame, press brakes, CNC Mill, fork trucks up to 45,000# capacity.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and working with OEM manufacturer.
• Ability to perform facility maintenance tasks and working with outside contractors
• Controls downtime by informing production scheduler of routine preventive maintenance performed by OEM manufacturer and or internal maintenance
• Fabricates repair parts by internal engineering and company equipment
• Maintains spare parts inventory provided by OEM
• Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
• Works with equipment OEM manufacturers to troubleshoot and address any sudden breakdowns
• Prepares mechanical maintenance information to include all work order requests and document in company maintenance software
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and establishing personal networks for equipment and parts suppliers
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications

• High school degree and technical background required, trade/vocational school preferred
• Minimum 2 years mechanical experience required, agricultural and/or automotive a plus
• Strong background in electrical systems (including wiring schematics), hydraulics, air brakes and diesel engines as well as transmissions and clutches
• Great communication skills, ability to work well with others and exchange skills and knowledge with other company employees
• Able to work without direct supervision
• Class A CDL a plus
• Service shop experience preferred
• Ability to lift heavy mechanical components and work outside in all types of weather
• Demonstrated reliable work history and ability to work independentlyAbility to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
• Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
