Job summary

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. is hiring a Maintenance Technician 2 for the 3rd shift (9 PM – 5:30 AM) with a 15% differential. You will install, test, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facilities across locations, reporting to Maintenance Supervisor.

Requires 3 years of industrial maintenance and a two-year degree or equivalent. We offer $22.77 to $35.18 hourly, 401(k) with 10% company match, healthcare benefits, onsite clinic, training, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred
• 3 years Industrial maintenance experience required
• Competent with MS 365 Office suite of programs in addition to a CMMS
• Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures, operation manuals, and/or engineering specifications
• Ability to read precision measuring instruments like feeler gauges, calipers and tape measures
• Know, understand and be compliant with Confined Space Entry, NFPA 70E and Lockout procedures
• Ability to perform quality work independently and in a team
• Operational knowledge of general machine tools such as grinder, drill press, hand tools and metalworking equipment
• Knowledge of P&IDs and manufacturer drawings
• Driver's License clean in last 3 years
• Internal Certification to Operate Heavy Equipment within 90 Days

Responsibilities

• Address issues on work orders at all company locations and checkout parts
• Complete preventive maintenance work orders as assigned
• Inspect, test, diagnose, and repair machinery and equipment
• Lubricate and rebuild shafts, bearings, gears and parts
• Maintain pipe systems and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment and repair gauges and valves
• Install, repair, modify, or replace machines and equipment
• Repair electrical components such as motors and relays
• Troubleshoot instrumentation, temperature, pressure, and flow loops; basic PLC understanding
• Perform other duties as required; weekend work and call in coverage required

Get to Know This Role

The Maintenance Technician 2 is responsible for the installation, removal, testing, repair and preventative maintenance of manufacturing production and facilities equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role provides brewery-wide technical and diagnostic expertise.

What You Will Do

• Conduct work orders and address issues as they arise at all company locations; identify, find, and checkout parts as needed from storeroom; Operate forklift, genie boom, scissor lift as needed to complete work orders
• Complete preventive maintenance work orders as assigned and recommend revisions to improve reliability
• Inspect, test, diagnose, and repair machinery and equipment; respond to urgent maintenance needs at all company work sites as needed
• Clean, lubricate and rebuild shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
• Maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and equipment related to utility and process piping
• Install, remove, repair, modify, or replace new or existing machines and equipment
• Repair, and replace electrical components such as motors, motor starters, fuses, disconnects, instrumentation, relays, switches, and position sensors
• Troubleshoot instrumentation, temperature, pressure, and flow control loops. Install, maintain and basic understanding of troubleshooting PLCs motor control systems and control networks
• Perform other duties and take on other responsibilities as required
• Weekend work and call in coverage are required

• Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred
• 3 years Industrial maintenance experience required
• Competent with MS 365 Office suite of programs (i.e. Sharepoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook) in addition to a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System, i.e. MP2, SAP, Maximo)
• Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and/or engineering specifications
• Ability to accurately use precision measuring and testing instruments such as feeler gauges, calipers and tape measures
• Know, understand and be compliant with Confined Space Entry procedure, NFPA 70E and Lockout procedure is essential
• Ability to perform quality work independently as well as in a team environment
• Ability to complete assigned work in a timely manner
• Operational knowledge of general machine tools such as a grinder, drill press, hand tools and other metal working equipment
• Knowledge of P&IDs, equipment cut sheet, and manufacturer-provided drawings
• Driver's License free of any major moving violations in the last three years upon hire required
• Internal Certification to Operate Heavy Equipment including forklifts, Genie booms, scissor lifts, etc. within 90 Days required
