Job summary

PRAXM is seeking a motivated Maintenance Technician to support maintenance operations and resident experience across our communities. This hands-on role repairs, solves problems, and contributes to a high-performing team while upholding safety and compliance.

You will perform preventive maintenance, HVAC tasks, electrical, plumbing, and general building repairs; coordinate with Property Manager; participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support; and help prepare vacant units for

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance service requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with maintaining consistent maintenance standards across communities.
• Communicate with the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor about conditions and updates.
• Maintain and repair HVAC systems and implement preventive maintenance per budget goals.
• Repair electrical circuits, switches, outlets, lighting, plumbing, appliances and building systems as needed.
• Document preventative maintenance activities for accurate records and compliance.
• Identify maintenance risks and propose solutions proactively.
• Prepare vacant apartments to market-ready condition per PRAXM standards.
• Support unit inspections and property appearance standards.
• Assist in keeping common areas, pools, amenities, and grounds clean.
• Support lawn care, landscaping, parking lot upkeep, and snow removal as needed.
• Ensure safety and compliance standards are upheld.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule and after-hours emergencies.

We are seeking a motivated and service-focused Maintenance Technician to support maintenance operations and overall resident experience across PRAXM communities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and is energized by solving problems, completing repairs, and contributing to a high-performing team.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining property condition, supporting resident satisfaction, and ensuring a positive first impression of each community.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete all maintenance service requests in a timely and professional manner in accordance with community policies and PRAXM standards


• Assist with maintaining consistent maintenance standards


• Communicate effectively with the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor regarding property conditions, supply needs, and project updates


• Maintain and repair HVAC systems, implementing preventative maintenance measures aligned with budgetary goals


• Repair and maintain simple electrical circuits, switches, outlets, lighting fixtures, plumbing components, appliances, and general building systems as needed


• Complete and document preventative maintenance activities to ensure accurate recordkeeping and compliance


• Identify potential maintenance risks and proactively recommend solutions


• Prepare vacant apartments to market-ready condition in accordance with PRAXM standards and timelines


• Support unit inspections and assist with maintaining high curb appeal and property presentation standards


• Assist in maintaining cleanliness of common areas, pools, amenities, and grounds


• Support lawn care, landscaping, parking lot upkeep, and snow removal as required


• Ensure safety and compliance standards are upheld


• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and provide after-hours emergency support as assigned


• Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues


• Maintain knowledge of and adhere to Fair Housing guidelines, safety standards, and company policies

Job Requirements

• HVAC certification/designation preferred


• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across multiple maintenance disciplines


• Exceptional customer service skills, including strong written and verbal communication


• Reliable transportation required


• Working knowledge of RealPage (or other property management software)
  


• Knowledge of federal and state housing regulations


• Ability to work independently with strong time management and organizational skills


• Ability to accommodate a rotating on-call schedule and varied work schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed

Work Environment

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.


• Must be available during standard office hours at assigned properties and during scheduled on-call hours.


• Physical demands include walking, climbing stairs, bending, sitting, standing for extended periods, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $22.00 – $25.00


• Uncapped Bonus Potential
