Burke Mountain Resort is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician I to help maintain the safety, appearance, and functionality of our resort facilities and grounds. This hands-on role handles building maintenance, equipment repairs, basic carpentry, inspections, and snow removal operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous maintenance, construction, or related experience is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance, tools, and repair techniques.
• Strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Valid Vermont Driver's License required and ability to meet the requirements of Burke Mountain Resort's commercial auto insurance policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs on resort buildings, grounds, walkways, and public areas.
• Respond to and complete maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs across multiple departments.
• Operate snow removal equipment and maintain safe pedestrian travel ways during winter conditions.
• Conduct property inspections and identify maintenance needs.
• Follow all safety policies and emergency procedures.
• Build positive working relationships with coworkers, guests, and vendors.
• Support departmental operations and perform other duties as assigned.

This hands-on position is responsible for general building maintenance, equipment repairs, basic carpentry, property inspections, and snow removal operations. The ideal candidate enjoys working both independently and as part of a team, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for guests and employees.

Key Responsibilities*

• Perform general maintenance and repairs on resort buildings, grounds, walkways, and public areas.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds regularly.

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including snow, ice, rain, and extreme temperatures.


• Ability to safely navigate steep terrain, stairways, multilevel buildings, and winter resort environments.
