Position Summary
This position repairs and rebuilds manufacturing machines and provides mechanical, electrical and technical support and repairs to all areas of the facility.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems related to the production equipment
- As a team member or independently, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical machinery problems
- Work with machinery drawings, specifications, electrical schematics, machine manuals or other assembled data
- Fabricate needed components as required
- Demonstrate proficiencies in pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC, electrical controls, AC/DC drive motors, machine component clearances/fits and an overall understanding of machine operation and function
- Complete preventative machine maintenance as assigned
- Maintain accurate records of equipment repairs
Cooperation
- Professionally communicate and collaborate with all team members and machine set‑up operators to improve overall manufacturing operations
- Follow guidance and directives, verbal and/or written, provided by the Manufacturing Manager and other managers in the company
- Perform daily responsibilities in coordination with company and departmental work instructions
- Provide a positive approach to problem solving to minimize machine downtime and prevent reoccurrence
Safety
- Follow all safety requirements to avoid injury to self and fellow employees
- Create and maintain a safe work environment; repair and/or report non‑conformances to company safety policies and guidelines
- Perform safety tasks as required to avoid injury to self and colleagues
- Demonstrate safe and efficient operating skills of machine‑shop equipment such as milling machines, surface grinders, lathes, etc.
Physical Demands
- Lift approximately 40 lbs. from floor level to waist and back 5 times per hour
- Stand approximately 8–10 hours per day
- Have visual acuity for detailed work
- Possess manual dexterity
- Possess mechanical ability
- Be able to bend, twist, and squat in sometimes awkward positions for prolonged periods while exerting force on hand tools to adjust machinery

- Un‑air‑conditioned, well‑ventilated manufacturing facility
Location
Waterford, Michigan
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Five years of related experience and/or training
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form, and to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Experience troubleshooting PLCs and ladder logic
- Experience with hydraulics, motors, and pumps
- Fabrication experience preferred
- Strong mechanical skills and aptitude
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or data
- Understanding or working knowledge of machines and equipment within the manufacturing areas
Position Type / Expectations of Working Hours
- Full‑time position
- Regularly scheduled to work 10 hours a day
- Must be able to work Monday through Saturday
