Job Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated production equipment across both general manufacturing environments and controlled Medical Device production areas.

This role supports filling and packaging operations conducted under cGMP and FDA regulations. The technician will execute preventive maintenance, respond to equipment issues, and contribute to reliability improvements to help ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production processes.

Success in this position requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities, adherence to good documentation practices, and the ability to collaborate effectively with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams.

Core Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance on filling, capping, labeling, conveying, and packaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Diagnose equipment issues using structured troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and OEM manuals.
  • Support troubleshooting of PLCs and VFDs (Allen Bradley experience preferred).
  • Replace defective components, including motors, sensors, gearboxes, valves, and pneumatic systems.
  • Accurately document all maintenance activities using controlled forms and within the CMMS system.
  • Participate in root cause analysis efforts to reduce recurring equipment failures.
  • Maintain awareness of spare parts inventory and expedite concerns regarding critical components.
  • Adhere to safety standards, including LOTO procedures, SOPs, and company safety policies.
  • Partner with Production and Quality teams to minimize downtime while maintaining compliance.
Medical Device Area Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance activities within FDA-regulated and ISO-classified Medical Device production environments.
  • Follow cGMP guidelines and internal Quality System procedures when working with validated equipment.
  • Recognize and account for the potential impact of maintenance activities on product quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain proper gowning protocols and clean-as-you-go practices in controlled environments.
  • Ensure all maintenance documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
