Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife in Sidney, OH seeks a Maintenance Tech to provide a safe, comfortable environment for residents. You will perform general maintenance tasks including repairs, plumbing, electrical and carpentry, and assist with moving furnishings.

Starting pay is $18.00 per hour with up to 32 hours per week (8a–4p) and will reduce over time. Valid Ohio driver’s license, HVAC/electrical experience, and healthcare maintenance exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have a valid Ohio driver's license and be insurable.
• HVAC and electrical experience; health care facility maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a comfortable, safe and secure environment for residents, families, visitors and partners.
• Performs general maintenance tasks including repairs, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.
• Assists with moving residents’ furnishings as needed.
• Paints residents' living quarters as needed.
• Assists with ongoing preventive maintenance and equipment operation.
• Maintains documentation of safety and maintenance records.
• Assists with transportation tasks as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

This Maintenance Tech position offers up to 32 hours per week now (8a-4p) and will reduce over time.

The position starts at $18.00/hr and increases with experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a comfortable, safe and secure environment for the residents, their families, visitors and partners.
• Performs a variety of general maintenance tasks, including general repairs, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.
• Assists with moving of residents’ furnishings as needed.
• Paintsresidents' living quarters as needed.
• Assists with theon-going preventative maintenance program of cleaning, repairing and operating equipment, which minimizes abnormal equipment failure.
• Assists with maintaining documentation of fire safety evacuation plan, fire drills, disaster plan, smoking policy, fire alarm testing,fire extinguisher maintenance and testing reports, generator testing logs, water temperatures, flame spread ratings of interior finishes, and other maintenance records.
• Assists with transportation tasks as needed.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Licensure/Certification: Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and be insurable
• Experience: HVAC and electrical required, maintenance experience in a maintenance department and prior experience in a health care facility preferred
