Job summary

Alamo Group Ag Americas, LLC in Selma, Alabama is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the team. You will perform maintenance tasks on production equipment and facilities to keep operations running smoothly.

Under supervision, you will repair air leaks, fans, lighting, lubrication, and assist senior technicians with PMs and repairs. A high school diploma and 2+ years in maintenance are typical requirements; forklift operation and basic welding skills are valued.

Responsibilities

• Focus on safety and housekeeping in all tasks.
• Repair air leaks, fans, facility lighting, lubrication and simple equipment tasks.
• Assist higher level technicians with PMs and repairs of production equipment.
• Test and verify proper operation after maintenance work.
• Support projects to improve process and department flow.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Position Summary

Bush Hog is one of the most recognized and successful names in the Agricultural Market. The Maintenance Technician is a key position in the Company and will support and contribute to the company goals of profitability, return on investment, inventory turnover, and accident prevention. The Maintenance Technician, under general supervision, will perform general maintenance task such as repair of air leaks, fans, facility lighting, chain hoist check and minor repairs, lubrication of equipment, and other simple tasks. Work with and assist higher level maintenance technicians with the PM and repairs of production equipment.

Essential Functions Of The Job

• Work on special projects; such as but not limited to, rerouting the conveyor, moving machinery, running gas and air lines, fan installations, light installations
• Test and verify proper operation of equipment upon completion of maintenance tasks

• Project work as needed to improve process and department flow
• Assist department supervisor in any projects or processes as needed
• Perform any other duties which may be assigned by Supervisor

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSA’s)

• Basic mechanical skills
• General knowledge of hand tools and their function
• Ability to listen to and/or read instructions and follow them
• Basic welding skills
• Safe forklift and mobile lift equipment operation. Valid Driver’s License (required)

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years’ experience in maintenance or a technical degree, preferred
