Job summary

Thearcnepa is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee the general upkeep and repair of building structures and systems. Under the Director of Operations, you will manage work orders, coordinate with staff, and stay on call for emergencies to keep facilities functioning safely.

Responsibilities include planning and prioritizing repairs, performing plumbing and electrical tasks, installing fixtures, and assisting outside contractors as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize the planning and layout of work relating to work/repair orders in conjunction with appropriate administrative staff via regular weekly meetings.
  • Maintain on-call status via pager for evening and weekend emergency repairs.
  • Perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks as approved by supervisor through established Work/Repair Order system to include: Preparing and cleaning up of work site repairs; Purchasing materials/supplies for work/repair orders; Spackling/painting; Repairing/replacing plumbing and electrical switches and fixtures; Assembling/installing equipment such as fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, locks, doorknobs, grab-bars, fixtures, window coverings, shelving units, desks, doors, and other furnishings; Repairing broken window panes, woodwork, furniture, floors, stairs, railings, etc.
  • Maintain agency-owned mechanical and electrical equipment/tools and make recommendations for repair or replacement when necessary.
  • Perform ongoing physical site assessments and make the appropriate recommendations for repair/maintenance and/or purchase.
  • Work with outside contractors retained by the agency to ensure efficient work operations in the maintenance, construction, and repair of all physical site structures and systems.
  • Coordinate service schedules on vehicle fleet to ensure timely completion of routine maintenance/repairs.
  • Perform the following routine custodial tasks on an as-needed basis: Snow/ice removal on walk areas surrounding buildings during inclement weather; Respond to cleaning emergencies or flooding in restrooms, service areas, and basements; Change ventilation/AC filters; Replace ceiling tiles; Move furniture, equipment and supplies.
  • Respond to fire/security alarm system and ensure security at sites through prescribed procedures.
  • Attend and participate in required in-service training or staff meetings.
