Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. in Illinois is seeking a Maintenance Technician to inspect, test and repair equipment, ensuring reliable operation and quality standards. You will perform preventive maintenance, follow testing procedures and document findings.

Ideal candidates will have experience with electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to read schematics. A degree (Assoc or Bachelor's) and 1 year appliance technician experience are preferred.

Pay, benefits and more

The hourly pay rate for this is $23.75. GXO, in good faith, believes this is the pay rate for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted rate and this rate is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Illinois. This rate may be modified in the future. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and other benefits to eligible employees. What you'll do on a typical day:

• Process products that require testing and mechanical evaluation, and perform all cosmetic repairs to restore products to sellable conditions
• Follow basic functional testing procedures for appliances
• Perform necessary preventive maintenance in a timely manner with adequate recordkeeping
• Locate sources of problems by observing and listening to the appliance; diagnose and make repairs
• Document performance of preventive maintenance, equipment repair, part usages, etc.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you'll need:Experience with Microsoft OfficeExperience reading simple electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawingsKnowledge of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical systemsIt'd be great if you also have:Associate or bachelor's degree1 year of experience as an appliance technicianAn active Journeyman licenseThis job requires the ability to:Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slipperyReach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel Access any area of the equipment to perform necessary maintenance, including inspecting and performing work in, on or under parts of the equipment
