Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Illinois to inspect, test, and repair equipment. You will ensure devices meet quality standards, perform cosmetic repairs, and document maintenance activities.

The role emphasizes safety and accurate recordkeeping in a fast-paced logistics environment. Ideal candidates have 1 year of appliance technician experience, an active Journeyman license, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Office and basic office software.
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings.
• Knowledge of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
• 1 year of appliance technician experience and a related degree or certification.
• Active Journeyman license.

Responsibilities

• Process products that require testing and mechanical evaluation and perform cosmetic repairs to restore products.
• Follow basic functional testing procedures for appliances.
• Perform preventive maintenance with timely recordkeeping.
• Locate sources of problems by observing and listening to the appliance; diagnose and repair.
• Document performance of preventive maintenance, equipment repair, part usages, etc.

Pay, Benefits And More

The hourly pay rate for this is $23.75. GXO, in good faith, believes this is the pay rate for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted rate and this rate is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Illinois. This rate may be modified in the future. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and other benefits to eligible employees. Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable. What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Process products that require testing and mechanical evaluation, and perform all cosmetic repairs to restore products to sellable conditions
• Follow basic functional testing procedures for appliances
• Perform necessary preventive maintenance in a timely manner with adequate recordkeeping
• Locate sources of problems by observing and listening to the appliance; diagnose and make repairs
• Document performance of preventive maintenance, equipment repair, part usages, etc.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Experience reading simple electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings
• Knowledge of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical systems
• Associate or bachelor’s degree
• 1 year of experience as an appliance technician
• An active Journeyman license
• Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery
• Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
• Access any area of the equipment to perform necessary maintenance, including inspecting and performing work in, on or under parts of the equipment
