The YMCA of Greater Louisville is seeking a part-time Maintenance staff member for the Southeast Family YMCA in Louisville, KY. You will help maintain our facilities to provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for members and staff, handling maintenance, housekeeping, landscaping, and grounds upkeep.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and housekeeping of facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
• Monitor and contribute to pool maintenance; check chemicals and pump room functions.
• Perform interior maintenance projects (signage, painting, ceiling tile replacement).
• Exterior grounds upkeep; trash removal and signage maintenance.
• Support event setups and takedowns for programs and activities.
• Assist with safety training and enforce YMCA policies to protect children.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Model YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility through your actions and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
• Develop a keen eye for detail, ensuring the highest standards of maintenance and cleanliness.
• Respond promptly to work orders and requests to ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues.
• Monitor and contribute to pool maintenance; checking chemicals and pump room functions.
• Interior maintenance projects as assigned; signage install, painting, ceiling tile replacement, etc.
• Interior housekeeping; dusting and wet mopping gym floors, glass cleaning.
• Exterior grounds monitoring; emptying field trash, securing signage, maintaining a clean space for members.
• Work alongside branch sports director for field marking. May assist sports directors in other duties.
• Engage in safe work practices, including handling heights, electricity, plumbing, pumps, chemicals, and complete required safety training.
• Assist with event set ups and takedowns, ensuring facilities are prepared for special events and programs.
• Communicate the importance of the Y’s commitment to child protection and enforce all YMCA policies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to walk and move continuously throughout your shift.
• Comfortable working at heights at or above 12 feet.
• Able to lift and carry tools, ladders, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
