Job summary

Paragon Building Maintenance, Inc. is seeking a Handyman/Maintenance Tech to perform general maintenance and minor repairs around the terminal. The role includes plumbing, electrical, painting, landscaping, and safety inspections, with an expectation to complete EOS inspections and uphold cleanliness.

The schedule is Thursday through Monday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with an hourly rate of $21–$22. Candidates should be able to work weekends, pass a background check, and be willing to obtain forklift

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to perform routine janitorial and basic facility maintenance tasks.
  • Experience with painting, floor care, and minor repairs is a plus.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and PPE usage is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and minor repairs around the terminal, including plumbing, electrical, painting, landscaping, and safety inspections.
  • Carry out End of Shift Inspections (EOS) following company guidelines to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with client representatives and ensure standards are met.

Job description

General Responsibilities :

The Handyman/Maintenance Tech performs general maintenance and minor repairs around the terminal. This includes plumbing, electrical, painting, landscaping, and safety inspections.

Schedule :

Thursday-Monday

6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Salary: $21-22 Hourly

Skills & Experience:

  • Sweeping, Mopping, Dusting, Polishing, Detailing Of Terminal Facility

  • Landscaping Duties such as watering the greenery area, picking up cut grass and plants
  • Patching walls, replacing outlets
  • Fill all dispensers with soap, lotion, paper towels, and toilet paper.
  • Requires employees to bend, reach, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Pushing, lifting, and carrying items less than 30 lbs.
  • Repetitive use of hands, wrists, arms, and legs.
  • Climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Use of personal protective equipment correctly, such as safety glasses and vinyl gloves.
  • Pull trash that can weigh 40 pounds or more
  • Perform janitorial work and other duties as assigned
  • Perform End of Shift Inspections (EOS) following company guidelines, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met at the end of each shift.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must provide proof of work authorization, and complete an I-9 and E-Verify process
  • Must be a USA Citizen. The candidate will need clearance to work in the Ports
  • Must be available to work weekends if needed
  • Must be available to work assigned shift
  • Consent to a Background check.
  • Comfortable using a forklift (forklift certified preferred)

Work Environment :

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. While performing some duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

  • Ability to walk for extended periods across multiple job sites
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
