Job summary

L&L Fabrication, Inc. is seeking a Building and Equipment Maintenance Technician to ensure safe, reliable operations across our Colorado facilities. The role covers electrical, mechanical, and facility upkeep with emphasis on safety, compliance, and timely repairs.

You will perform inspections, troubleshoot systems, install and test wiring, and collaborate with contractors. A strong work ethic, hands-on skills, and 2+ years in maintenance are required; DOE applies for pay and shifts may vary.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of building maintenance or electrical repair experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and safety protocols.
• Ability to troubleshoot using technical manuals.
• Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and work in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and repairs on building, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and building infrastructure.
• Install, maintain, and test electrical wiring, fixtures, and control systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs promptly.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory.
• Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety codes and building regulations.
• Assist with general labor tasks such as electrical, mechanical, painting, carpentry, cleaning, and landscaping.

Building and Equipment Maintenance Technician

Job Description – This role is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and efficiency of buildings, equipment, and electrical systems, across multiple facilities (northern Colorado). The technician performs routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance across multiple trades including electrical, mechanical, and general facility upkeep.

Rate of Pay –

$22.00 - $28.00 per hour DOE

L&L Fabrication is an ASME Code vessel shop Holding U and R stamps. We offer ASME-coded work built to spec, along with repairs and maintenance on used pressure-rated equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and repairs on building, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in building maintenance, machinery or electrical repair.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety protocols.
• Ability to trouble shoot and utilize technical manuals.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
• Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and work in varied conditions.
• Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.

Preferred Experience

• Electrical trouble shooting and repair
• Welding equipment trouble shooting and repair
• Good mechanical appitude
• OSHA Safety Training
• May require shift work, on-call availability, and working at heights or in confined spaces
• Work can be inside or outside, so expectation of weather and safety appropriate clothing.
• Typical weightlifting expectancy is regularly 50lbs, occasionally 75lbs, and in team settings 100+lbs.
• You may be exposed to noise around 90dbs; hearing protection is required and provided.
• Crush hazards are present, Hard Toe Shoes are required, and you will be required to wear other PPE dependent on the situation – If special PPE is required, it will be provided.
