Position Summary
The Maintenance Team Member is responsible for helping maintain a clean, safe,
attractive, and fully functioning restaurant environment for our Guests and
Team Members. This position supports the daily operation of the restaurant by
performing routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, repairs, cleaning,
inspections, and property upkeep.
The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, mechanically inclined,
safety-conscious, and takes pride in caring for the restaurant as if it were
their own. This Team Member should be able to identify potential problems
before they become costly repairs and communicate maintenance needs to
restaurant leadership in a timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities
Restaurant Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout the restaurant.
- Inspect equipment, fixtures, facilities, and property for signs of wear, damage, or malfunction.
- Identify potential maintenance issues before they become major problems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from restaurant leadership.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment and facility issues.
- Replace light bulbs, filters, batteries, hardware, and other routine maintenance items.
- Perform basic plumbing repairs and troubleshooting when qualified.
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs when qualified and legally permitted.
- Maintain doors, locks, hinges, handles, shelving, cabinets, and other fixtures.
- Assist with HVAC-related maintenance and report problems to leadership or qualified contractors.
- Assist with preventive maintenance schedules and documentation.
- Coordinate with approved vendors and contractors when outside expertise is required.
Kitchen Equipment
- Help maintain kitchen equipment in safe and proper working condition.
- Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on equipment as trained.
- Identify unusual sounds, leaks, temperatures, odors, or performance issues.
- Report equipment problems that require specialized service.
- Help minimize equipment downtime by addressing problems promptly.
- Follow manufacturer instructions and restaurant procedures when servicing equipment.
- Never perform repairs beyond the Team Member’s training, qualifications, or authorization.
Building and Property
- Maintain the appearance and functionality of the restaurant’s interior and exterior.
- Inspect walls, ceilings, floors, doors, windows, parking areas, sidewalks, landscaping, and other property areas.
- Assist with minor drywall, painting, caulking, patching, and general repairs.
- Help maintain exterior lighting, signs, trash areas, and other property features.
- Assist with landscaping and seasonal property tasks and maintenance as needed.
- Help maintain parking lot and sidewalk areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Identify and report safety hazards immediately.
Cleanliness and Sanitation
- Support the restaurant’s high standards of cleanliness and appearance.
- Assist with deep-cleaning projects and scheduled maintenance cleaning.
- Clean and maintain areas that may not be part of the normal daily cleaning routine.
- Properly handle cleaning chemicals and maintenance supplies.
- Follow all safety data sheet (SDS), chemical handling, and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Maintain an organized and safe work space and storage areas.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow all Chick-fil-A safety procedures and restaurant policies.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or potential hazards.
- Follow applicable OSHA, health department, fire code, and other regulatory requirements.
- Never bypass safety devices, guards, or manufacturer safety features.
- Use ladders, power tools, chemicals, and other equipment only as trained and authorized.
Teamwork and Hospitality
- Treat Team Members, Guests, vendors, and contractors with honor, dignity, and respect.
- Communicate maintenance concerns clearly with restaurant leadership.
- Respond to requests from restaurant leadership in a timely and professional manner.
- Protect the Guest experience by addressing maintenance issues that could affect safety, cleanliness, appearance, or service.
- Demonstrate Chick-fil-A’s hospitality standards in every interaction.
- Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
Required
- Must be dependable and punctual.

Preferred
- Previous maintenance, facilities, construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, automotive, or mechanical experience.
- Experience using basic hand and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
- Experience with preventative maintenance.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment.
- Previous restaurant or commercial maintenance experience.
- Relevant certifications or technical training.
Physical Requirements
The Maintenance Team Member should be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, climb, reach, and work in confined or awkward positions.
- Safely use hand tools and approved power tools.
- Work from ladders when properly trained and authorized.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Work around heat, cold, grease, water, cleaning chemicals, and restaurant equipment.
- Maintain sufficient mobility and strength to safely perform assigned maintenance duties.
- Lift and carry materials and equipment within the restaurant’s established safety limits (50lbs) on a regular basis.
