HF Sinclair Refining in Washington seeks a Maintenance Team Leader to oversee the Maintenance Department Fab Shop, directing technical resources and leading safety and cost controls.
The role requires seven years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree. You will supervise up to 15 employees with potential for up to 50 contract staff, coordinate scheduling, and maintain refinery reliability.
HF Sinclair Refining is seeking a Maintenance Team Leader to oversee certain functions and activities of the Maintenance Department Fab Shop, including supervising and coordinating technical resources to support area maintenance, providing leadership and human resource management, resolving problems and issues as they arise, overseeing safety performance and maintenance/reliability of units, managing clerical responsibilities, and controlling costs with minimal supervision while complying with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
A minimum of seven years of related job experience is required.
Refining experience is preferred.
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, is required.
Knowledge of refinery operations and specific craft knowledge. Proven interpersonal skills. Self‑starter and safety sensitive. Troubleshooting skills and ability to function effectively in a team atmosphere. Knowledge of welding and equipment operation. A significant amount of experience with job‑related equipment is essential. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal. Basic reading and writing skills. Ability to perform basic level mathematical calculations. Reading & interpreting process & craft‑specific drawings, diagrams, sketches, schematics, blueprints, and P&ID’s. Responds appropriately to emergency situations.
Preferred skills: trade school or journeyman/craftsman training; certification in crane and rigging; uses time‑management skills to effectively prioritize daily tasks & activities; ability to use effective meeting management techniques; able to make decisions & resolve problems in a timely manner.
Responsible for the supervision of up to 15 employees and may oversee up to 50 contract employees.
Field‑based with up to 5% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant, outdoor, and driver environments, including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, and confined spaces. Must respond to plant‑related emergencies and be available after hours during critical business situations depending on location. Subject to all temperatures, varying weather and road conditions.

Salary Range: The salary range includes the minimum, midpoint, and maximum base salary values. A candidate’s offer can vary depending on differentiating factors, including but not limited to education, training, or experience.
This position has a salary minimum of $99,000.00 and a maximum of $181,500.00.
