Job summary

BlueScope Coated Products is seeking an Industrial Mechanic/Electrician in Middletown, Ohio, to perform physical tasks including diagnosing equipment issues. The role entails a Thursday through Sunday shift from 5:45 am to 6:00 pm.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or equivalent, with trade certification or relevant experience in industrial maintenance. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Metals, coating, roll forming experience preferred.
• Must be able to work up to 12-hour shifts.
• Background check and drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Perform physically demanding tasks including climbing and lifting.

Job description

Required Qualifications & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Hold a Technology Diploma, Trade Certification or a minimum of five years of experience as an Industrial Mechanic and/or Electrician
• PLC and basic drives experience
• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge
• Proficient communication skills – particularly, the ability to explain complex electrical issues.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work, such as climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, twisting, and bending for extended periods of time.

Desired Qualifications

• Metals, coating, roll forming or industrial maintenance experience
• PLC experience, preferably Allen Bradley such as SLC 500, RSlogix 5/500/5000, PLC5, ControlLogix, Micrologix, and Panelview systems

Skills And Abilities

• Demonstrates strong computer proficiency, including the ability to learn and use new systems.
• Demonstrates strong practical aptitude in diagnosing and resolving equipment issues; able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
• Good, professional communication skills
• Ability to learn processes, equipment specifications, and company standards through active use of resources, manuals, training, policies, and collaboration with colleagues.
• Ability to work up to 12‑hour shifts
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test as a condition of employment

This is a Thursday through Sunday shift 5:45 am to 6:00 pm.
