The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for safely performing a wide range of maintenance and electrical duties to emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure. The Maintenance Electrician responds to the needs of the production supervisor in the event of an unplanned production line breakdown. The Maintenance Electrician effectively utilizes manpower and equipment to complete repairs in a timely manner, thereby contributing to the productivity and customer satisfaction.
To perform satisfactorily in this position, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Maintenance Technicians I’s must have a basic knowledge of the PC’s operating systems. Must be able to pass welding and cutting safety tests, arc flash tests and be able to start up line from cold start. Must have knowledge of all locations of E‑Stops and crane disconnects.
The ability to read and comprehend documents including: safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and simple correspondence. Also, the ability to communicate information in small group situations to other employees.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
Ability to apply common sense understanding, to perform work instructions that are furnished in written, oral and/or diagram form and also, the ability to solve problems that involve multiple variables in a standard situation.
Incumbent should be capable of driving a forklift and using power tools.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, frequently to walk, occasionally to stand, sit, bend, stoop, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance. The employee will be required to lift a minimum weight of 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close‑up and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
