Job summary

Merlin Entertainments is seeking a Maintenance Team Lead to supervise a small Facilities team at our attractions in Michigan. You will perform hands-on repairs, lead daily operations, and ensure safety and reliability of HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and electrical systems.

The role is full-time and on-site, offering growth opportunities within Merlin Entertainments and a dynamic, guest-facing environment that values hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in facilities, construction, or repair.
• Experience leading, training, or mentoring others is a plus.
• Ability to stay organized and productive in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a small Facilities team.
• Train and guide technicians throughout the day.
• Handle hands-on repairs and maintenance around the attraction.
• Troubleshoot lighting, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and general repairs.
• Complete painting, wall repair, equipment setup, and preventative maintenance.
• Oversee opening and closing procedures.
• Support safety and operational standards across the attraction.

Maintenance Team Lead - Pay Rate $22.00/hour

Lead the team that keeps the attraction running.

Looking for a hands‑on support role where no two days are the same?

As a Maintenance Team Lead, you’ll help keep both SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium and Peppa Pig World of Play safe, running smoothly, and ready for guests every day. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys fixing things, staying active, and helping lead a small team in a fun, fast‑paced environment.

This is not a desk job, you’ll be working hands‑on alongside your team while helping guide daily operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Help lead and support a small Facilities team
• Train and guide technicians throughout the day
• Handle hands‑on repairs and maintenance around the attraction
• Troubleshoot issues involving lighting, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and general repairs
• Complete painting, wall repair, equipment setup, and preventative maintenance
• Help oversee opening and closing procedures
• Support safety and operational standards across the attraction
• Jump in wherever needed to keep operations running smoothly

If something breaks, your team helps fix it and keep the guest experience going strong.

• Have maintenance, handyman, facilities, construction, or repair experience
• Have some experience leading, training, or mentoring others

Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or facilities maintenance is a plus.

OSHA or trade certifications are helpful, but not required.
