Position Information
TxDOT's Tyler District is looking for a Maintenance Office Support Tech I,II, or III for our Longview Maintenance Office. Come join the Longview Maintenance Office as a Support Tech. This position keeps the office running day to day, assisting with phone calls, meetings, employee onboarding, orders and procurement, data entry, timesheets, and many other important functions. The ideal candidate is able to communicate and respond quickly and professionally via phone or email to members of the public, coworkers, and local government stakeholders. Salary:
Maintenance Support Tech I (A13): $35,439 - $52,388
Maintenance Support Tech II (A15): $38,976 - $58,045
Maintenance Support Tech III (A17): $42,976 - $64,469

Performs administrative support-related work in a maintenance office or district headquarters. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.
Maintenance Support Tech II: Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.
Maintenance Support Tech III: Performs administrative support-related work in a maintenance office or district headquarters and for one or more projects and/or specialized programs. May serve as a lead worker. Work requires contact with high-level managers, executives, governmental officials and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.
Maintenance Support Tech I:

High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.
Maintenance Support Tech I: None
Maintenance Support Tech II: 1 year in administrative or clerical support, customer service, or related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).College education and/or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
Maintenance Support Tech III: 3 years in administrative or clerical support, customer service, or related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).College education and/or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
Valid driver’s license at time of application. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
