Primary Purpose

To perform general facilities maintenance functions supporting all maintenance groups, including building maintenance, lift shop, and sanitation, to support the operations of the distribution center.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform basic functions for building maintenance, lift shop, and sanitation, such as checking fire extinguishers, water batteries, and making parts runs.
2. Assist Maintenance Department Mechanics and Technicians with work orders.
3. Work the required schedule to perform duties.
4. Make recommendations for process modifications to improve efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs.
5. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
6. Ensure compliance with company standards regarding safety, accuracy, and productivity.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service, communication, and written skills.
• Ability to operate required equipment (e.g., power washing, mowing).
• Ability to meet production standards and understand product identifiers.
• Ability to work the needed schedule.
• Ability to work in varying warehouse conditions.
• Proficiency with a personal computer for data entry and research.
• Motivated, detail-oriented team player capable of prioritizing tasks.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret maintenance information such as blueprints and diagrams.
• Ability to use required tools.

Physical Requirements

• Repetitive reaching, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 80 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods.

Preferred Requirements

• High School diploma.
• Certification on industrial equipment (pallet jack, forklifts).
• Experience in a distribution environment.
• Basic maintenance aptitude.
