Maintenance Support Associate (1st Shift)

Primary Purpose

To perform general facilities maintenance functions and support all facilities maintenance groups including building maintenance, lift shop, and sanitation.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform basic functions for building maintenance, lift shop, and sanitation as assigned (i.e. checking fire extinguishers, water batteries, make parts runs, etc.)
• Assist and support the Maintenance Department Mechanics and Technicians in performing work orders.
• Work needed schedule to perform assigned duties.
• Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting their work group or center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs.
• Any other duties as assigned by management.
• Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service, communication, verbal and written skills.
• Must use all required equipment (i.e. power washing, mowing, etc.).
• Ability to meet production standards set by the company.
• Ability to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers.
• Work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (i.e. cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks).
• Able to use a personal computer for data entry and research purposes.
• Highly motivated self-starter and team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to analyze situations, identify problems and implement solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance-related information such as blueprints, diagrams, formulas etc.
• Ability to use required tools.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to and including 80 lbs. repetitively.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Preferred Requirements

• High School Education.
• Certified on industrial equipment (pallet jack, stand up and sit down forklifts).
• Familiarity/experience in a distribution environment.
• Must possess basic aptitude regarding general maintenance functions.
