Our Team is Kind of a Big Deal! UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Supervisor to join our community. As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will ensure all facility equipment functions efficiently, identify areas for process improvements, and oversee maintenance practices and staff training. We operate on a standard Monday - Friday schedule with periodic night and weekend overtime, and we provide on-the-job training.

What you’ll be doing:
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using blueprints and manuals.
- Inspect and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
- Perform basic welding repairs.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and control systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on assets.
- Follow schematics and manuals according to schedule.
- Test boiler chemicals and wastewater systems, record results, and adjust chemicals as needed.
- Manage and assign maintenance tasks, including repairs outside of standard hours.
- Oversee all shifts within the maintenance department.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
- Maintain safety standards, including confined space and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Monitor and facilitate technician training.
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Collaborate on budget management for facilities and equipment.
- Train and develop maintenance staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Two-year technical degree preferred.
- At least 21 years old.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe record.
- Pass maintenance knowledge assessment.
- Knowledge of maintenance equipment, wiring, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Minimum 3 years experience repairing industrial processing equipment; military experience considered.
- Preferably 2 years supervising maintenance personnel.
- Experience with maintenance administration, planning, scheduling, budgeting, vendor management, and CMMS.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hand/power tools.
- Lockout/Tagout experience.
- Able to work overtime and lift up to 80 lbs.
