Job summary

IPEX is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for the Pineville Extrusion plant in Louisiana. You will lead a skilled team, plan preventive maintenance, and drive safety and uptime in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will oversee documentation, coordinate with the Maintenance Manager, and champion continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring adherence to HSE policies and ISO 9001 standards. This hands-on leadership role requires a strong background in plastics manufacturing and CMMS

Qualifications

• College diploma or university degree (or equivalent experience).
• Electrical license and Millwright certification are required or preferred.
• Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or ISO 9001 training is beneficial.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (PVC/plastics preferred).
• Proficiency with CMMS/Hydra MES and knowledge of PLCs, motors, drives, hydraulics and pneumatics.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and assign preventive maintenance tasks using MES (Hydra).
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues; support start-up and commissioning activities; maintain documentation.
• Supervise and develop Maintenance Mechanics; onboard/train new team members; foster safety and collaboration.
• Uphold HSE policies; issue Hot Work Permits; conduct safety audits and incident investigations; monitor PPE.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our equipment and systems run safely, efficiently, and reliably. You’ll lead a skilled team of maintenance professionals, oversee preventive maintenance programs, and champion continuous improvement initiatives. What You’ll Do

• Ensure all machinery and systems are maintained in line with manufacturer specifications and safety standards. Plan, schedule, and assign preventive maintenance tasks using MES (Hydra) software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues; escape complex problems when needed. Support equipment start-up and commissioning activities. Maintain accurate documentation for all equipment and maintenance activities. Monitor and improve equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
• Supervise, coach, and support a team of Maintenance Mechanics. Lead onboarding and training for new team members. Foster a culture of continuous learning, safety, and collaboration. Contribute to employee development, succession planning, and retention strategies.
• Promote and uphold health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. Issue Hot Work Permits and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Conduct and document incident investigations and participate in safety audits. Monitor PPE usage and conduct regular safety observations. Collaborate with the HSE team on contractor management and risk assessments. Maintain 5S standards and support cross-shift communication and cooperation.

What You Bring

• College diploma or university degree (or equivalent experience).
• Valid Electrician License and Millwright Certification (or equivalent).
• Training in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or ISO 9001 is an asset.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (PVC or plastics preferred).
• Proficiency with Central Maintenance Management Systems and MES (Hydra).
• Strong knowledge of industrial electricity, PLCs, motors, drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, and process instrumentation.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and inventory control systems.
• Experience with Lean initiatives and ISO 9001 compliance is an asset.
