Qualifications

  • Five to eight years of maintenance experience in a coating & converting manufacturing environment desired.
  • Supervisor experience in a maintenance environment required.
  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support Maintenance and Production Operations to meet safety, quality, service and cost objectives.
  • Monitor daily maintenance issues and coordinate emergency repairs with Production personnel.
  • Manage the CMMS (EMaint) and schedule Maintenance Department employees.
  • Provide technical resources and guidance for projects, repairs, and modifications to meet codes and standards (NEC, OSHA, EPA, NFPA).
  • Lead design discussions focused on Reliability and Maintainability; track metrics to improve equipment performance.
  • Drive condition-based monitoring using vibration, oil analysis, and thermography; mentor maintenance staff.

Job description

Position Summary

*This is an off-shift position that will either work 2nd shift or 3rd shift starting after 5:00 PM and ending before 8:00 AM depending on the selected shift. Candidates must be open to working both of these shifts. The shift will be determined as business needs dictate at the time of hire* Responsible for Supervising the Maintenance workforce in a manner that will lead to attainment of agreed upon productivity, quality, and other relevant performance measures. Directly supervises all operations of the hourly Maintenance personnel. Ensures that the necessary tools and training are provided to the Maintenance employees to meet company goals and objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting Maintenance and Production Operations as required to achieve safety, quality, service, and cost objectives for the facility.
  • Monitoring daily maintenance issues for the Spartanburg Facility. Coordinates emergency repair responses with Production personnel.
  • Managing the Capital Maintenance Management System (CMMS - EMaint).
  • Developing and maintaining the work schedule of Maintenance Department employees.
  • Directing and providing technical resources for the Spartanburg Facility.
  • Evaluating equipment efficiencies under the direction of the Maintenance and Facilities Manager to ensure consistent, safe, and cost-effective manufacturing operations.
  • Project Manager for in-plant projects. Generates Capital request paperwork if needed.
  • Providing technical guidance on all projects, repairs, and modifications to meet NEC, OSHA, EPA, and NFPA codes.
  • Participating in the design phase of plant equipment with a focus on Reliability and Maintainability. Utilizes metrics to show improvement in equipment reliability.
  • Establishing and expanding condition-based monitoring using Predictive Maintenance techniques such as Vibration Analysis, Oil analysis, and Thermography.
  • Assuring proper training to maintenance personnel by both holding training sessions and utilizing outside training resources on various topics related to maintenance and reliability.
  • Tracking, analyzing, and improving metrics in relation to Preventative Maintenance completion, Work Order Completion, Predictive Maintenance Completion, Mean Time to Failure, Mean Time to Repair, Hours per Work Order, and more.
  • Leading and participating in Management of Change requests for equipment or process changes within the Spartanburg Facility.
  • Managing and directing contractors on site that are performing work for the Spartanburg site.
  • Developing and enhancing new initiatives to increase technician engagement and improve cross-training.
  • Supporting maintenance personnel on all shifts.
  • Must possess strong statistical analysis skills.
  • Performing other duties as assigned, travel and regular attendance are required.
Qualifications
  • Five to Eight years of maintenance experience in a Coating & Converting manufacturing environment desired. Supervisor experience in a Maintenance environment required.
  • High School Degree or equivalent required.
  • Language Skills: Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal forms, with people of various educational and technical backgrounds, inside and outside the company. Must be able to provide directions to employees that are consistent with company objectives.
  • Reasoning Skills: Ability to creatively solve problems and facilitate others to do the same. Must demonstrate annual operational and profit improvements.
  • Management Skills: Must be a confident decision maker and capable of making decisions within time and information constraints. Ability to quantify results, identify new opportunities, adapt to change, and interface with all levels of management on a continual basis is required. Must be able to operate independently.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to solve basic mathematical calculations and convert units of measure. Ability to perform geometrical calculations.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and engineering/maintenance software are required.
  • Work Environment: This position normally works in a manufacturing environment with limited time spent in the office. The noise level is usually moderate. Hearing, eye and foot protection are mandatory when entering the plant.
Scope
  • Physical Requirements: This position requires an employee to stand, walk and sit; navigate stairways and ladders; carry moderate loads and/or work at a computer for extended periods of time. Frequent exposure to a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and to outdoor elements is also required. Potential to be exposed to heights. Travel (sometimes with extended stays) to other sites will be required as project assignments require.
