Essential Job Responsibilities
- Perform on-site equipment maintenance evaluations with maintenance teams to identify areas for improvement.
- Provide technical on-the-job training to maintenance personnel to enhance skills and best practices.
- Coordinate with Operations, Central Services, and Engineering for scheduled maintenance, repairs, and capital projects. Lead safety, health, and environmental initiatives. Support equipment and service improvements for operations.
- Manage maintenance department budgets and monthly costs, including contingency planning and critical spares management.
What You'll Do
- Promote Safety: Prioritize safety for yourself and others to ensure zero accidents and compliance with Vulcan policies.
- Organize and Plan Maintenance: Schedule daily maintenance activities in coordination with plant operations for optimal performance.
- Manage Employee Relations: Provide leadership, training, and supervision to maintenance staff. Collaborate with HR on recruitment, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Monitor Processes and Materials: Analyze production and quality reports to ensure product quality and efficient maintenance practices. Implement preventive maintenance programs.
- Maintain Compliance: Foster a safety culture, ensuring adherence to safety, operational, and environmental policies. Oversee employee health and safety.
- Inspect Equipment and Perform Repairs: Organize daily inspections and maintenance to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Skills Needed: Experience managing maintenance and production teams in aggregate, sand/gravel, or asphalt plants. Technical maintenance skills required.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate teams. Strong interpersonal skills.
- Operational Knowledge: Understanding of mobile and plant equipment, MSHA regulations, engineering principles, and project management.
- Interpersonal Skills: Motivator and team builder with effective communication skills.
- Financial Knowledge: Experience in managing financial performance and meeting targets.
- Working Conditions: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.

- Salary Range: $80,862 - $116,742 annually, excluding bonuses and equity. Compensation is based on skills, experience, and market data.
