Job summary

West Liberty Foods is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance technicians and ensure safe, efficient operation of equipment in our West Liberty, Iowa facility. The role covers planning, training, and execution of preventative maintenance and root-cause analysis to minimize downtime.

The candidate will manage timekeeping, scheduling, and cross‑department communication while adhering to food safety and HACCP standards.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in a manufacturing environment with maintenance planning/supervision preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CMRP or other maintenance planning platforms.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop others; coaching experience is a plus.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorships available.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment; guide technicians.
• Provide on-the-job training for mechanics.
• Assist in determining root cause failures and corrective actions.
• Monitor and approve timecards, vacations, attendance, scheduling, and discipline actions.
• Develop monthly training and supervise PM schedules for all equipment and systems.
• Coordinate with management on issues affecting operations and participate in special projects.
• Order parts and supplies as needed and ensure compliance with HACCP/food safety.

• Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
• Location: West Liberty, Iowa
• Shift: Night Shift
• Annual Salary Range: $75,733 - $100,000 depending on experience
• Shift Premium: $4,000 per year

Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for keeping production running by effectively leading and giving direction to the Maintenance Technicians. Areas of focus will be at the facility ensuring the efficient and safe operations of equipment and the manufacturing of quality products in a manner that is consistent with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting in troubleshooting and repair of equipment and machines.
• Provide on the job training of mechanics.
• Aide in determining root cause failures and ideas for corrective action.
• Monitor and approve timecards, vacation, attendance, scheduling and related discipline actions.
• Provide monthly training to the team.
• Conduct audits as required.
• Create, prepare and supervise preventative maintenance (PM) schedules to maintain all equipment, machines, and systems as well as work orders.
• Work with and communicate with the manager on issues which arise that could adversely impact the operational performance of the facility.
• Special projects as assigned.
• Order parts and supplies as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of facilities and production equipment maintenance. Direct experience with maintenance planning and/or supervision is preferred.
• Knowledge: Must have a strong knowledge of CMRP or other maintenance planning platforms.
• Leadership: Ability to lead, motivate and develop others. Coaching and performance management experience is a plus. Ability to problem solve. Knowledge of timekeeping systems is a benefit. Must be able to work with other departments and follow all food safety guidelines and HACCP requirements. Must have computer skills to communicate and process data.
• Age: Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorships are available.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent is preferred.
• Physical Abilities:
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including above the head and below the waist.
• Environmental: Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
• Flexibility: Must be able to work weekends as needed. This requirement is for the purposes of training new team members, equipment shutdowns, and for involvement in unplanned events. Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Compliance: Must practice good personal hygiene. Candidates must successfully pass a post‑offer/pre‑employment drug test, background screen, physical and E‑Verify.
