Job Description:

Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Operating Company: Environmental Solutions Group – Marathon Equipment

Location: Vernon, AL

Reports to: Senior Director, Advanced Manufacturing

Department: Manufacturing and Operations

POSITION SUMMARY:

Help implement and support day to day activities and coordinating all phases of the Maintenance Department in such a manner as to promote efficiency and cost control while reducing downtime in accordance with applicable Company and regulatory guidelines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  1. Drive safety and environmental compliance.
  2. Lead and own the safety metrics and safety-training program for department.
  3. Investigate incidents and initiate root cause corrective actions within the department.
  4. Maintain and monitor project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures.
  5. Conduct 5S and safety audits, inspections, and support Kaizen Events.
  6. Support, plan and supervise Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and repair programs to ensure compliance to long and short-range goals.
  7. Use and oversee Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) and Reporting.
  8. Monitor and document maintenance and repair activities in CMMS; work with Manager to coordinate assignments with other departments and contractor activities.
  9. Engage team members in collaborative problem solving.
  10. Support and supervise directions from Manager for overhaul and other major maintenance and repair activities to achieve maximum unit availability within budgeted costs.
  11. Support and training for the development of maintenance personnel.
  12. Ensure that maintenance and repair activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, company practices and procedures.
  13. Take an active role in supporting quality initiatives such as QS9000 and ISO14001.
  14. Maintains cleanliness and order of work area, equipment, and tools.
  15. Learns and participates in problem solving methods to support objectives.
  16. Performs other various duties as required.
  17. Up to 25% travel will be needed for this role.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology is preferred or equivalent experience.
  2. 10 years of experience including supervisory experience. Previous Maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment required.
  3. Complete working knowledge of plant maintenance and systems.
  4. Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, CNC and PLC knowledge to assist to trouble shoot problems.
  5. Able to read and understand blueprints (mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic). AutoCAD knowledge preferred.
  6. Demonstrated leadership ability to plan, schedule, direct and review work of more than one functional area; deal effectively with team members, develop improved procedures as needed; interpret company policies, procedures, and practices.
  7. Ability to assume a leadership role makes effective decisions, and exercise good judgment, particularly in unexpected or abnormal situations.
  8. Must demonstrate integrity, accountability, and dependability.
  9. Comfortable in all working environments, indoors and outdoors.
  10. Ability to interface with vendors and contractors.
  11. Ability to interface with employees at all levels in the organization.
  12. Ability to communicate effectively.
  13. Must be flexible to work either day or night shifts and open to the weekend work.
  14. Ability to respond to problems on short or no notice.
  15. Essential Physical Requirements: Climb stairs and ladders. Work at heights and with adverse conditions during operation and when participating in fire and emergency activities. Enter and work in a confined space. Must be able to accurately read and interpret instruments and gauge. Pass a respirator physical and respirator fit test. Hear and understand audible alarms, detect changes in noise levels of rotating equipment and portable radio communication.
