Job summary

Community Healthcore is seeking a facilities maintenance professional to ensure the safety and reliability of our buildings and equipment in Longview, Texas. The role includes supervising maintenance staff and contractors, planning preventive programs, and coordinating with the Quality Improvement Team to meet regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in building trades, knowledge of safety codes, and the ability to interpret plans.

Job description

Job scope:

This position helps people achieve dignity, independence and their dreams by providing maintenance support including maintaining, repair and evaluating the safety of facilities to meet current federal, state and local standards. Works with the Organization Quality Improvement Team to identify areas for improvement.

Performs skilled work in one or more maintenance and building construction trades. Work involves maintaining and repairing buildings, utility systems, stationary equipment, and motorized equipment; requisitioning material and supplies; and keeping records. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The ability to supervise projects and people to meet Center goals.

Education/licensure:

High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational or trade school training preferred.

Current valid driver's license in state of residence.

Experience/Knowledge:

Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance; construction techniques; plumbing and heating systems; electrical systems; fire and safety regulations and procedures; painting, carpentry, and welding techniques; steel fabrication; and of local building codes including fire and safety regulations. Skill in the use of tools and equipment, troubleshooting causes for maintenance issues, prioritizing work schedules, and monitoring and inspecting the work performed by staff and contractors. Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications; to develop effective work methods; to maintain accurate reports and records; to organize preventative maintenance programs; to estimate work hours and plan work schedules; to communicate effectively; and to supervise the work of others. Able to communicate effectively with local officials and compliance for maintain current inspection status for various requirements.

Reaching, walking, lifting, finger dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, kneeling, crouching, crawling, travel. Physical stamina to work in inclement weather and sufficient equilibrium to work on ladders, scaffolding or roofs.
